Our sponsor for this week is Susana's Custom Art and Card Design! Susana generously provided stamps for the Flutter By Team to play with and show you the adorable stamps she's released this month in her store!

My card features one of Sylvia Zet's darling Lolli stamps, "Give Peace A Chance."

Supplies: image stamp (SCACD - "Give Peace A Chance" by Sylvia Zet), sentiment stamp (Kraftin' Kimmie - Fairy Sentiments set), watermark ink (VersaMark), black ink (Tsukineko Brilliance), Copic markers, ribbon, brads, die (Spellbinders Labels 8), butterfly brad (Colorbok), kraft cardstock, patterned paper (My Mind's Eye), tab die (My Favorite Things).

colourQ #126

Happy Tuesday and thanks for stopping by for a closer look at my card for this week's colourQ challenge (#126)!

I decided to try something different this week -- a circle easel card. My friend Sandy gave me one with my Secret Elf present at Christmas! You can see her post on it HERE.

Supplies: card stock (Bazzill Basics), patterned paper (Jillibean Soup - Dutch Mustard Soup paper pad), Nestabilities dies (Lacey Circles, Standard Circles Small/Large), image stamps (My Mind's Eye), sentiment stamp (Paper Smooches), opaque white embossing powder, watermark ink (VersaMark), brown ink (Stampin' Up - Chocolate Chip), embossing folder (Sizzix), grosgrain ribbon (Stampin' Up!), rhinestone.
Beate Johns has an excellent tutorial on how to make circle easel cards on her blog. I'm sure she explains it in better detail than I would. Besides, I think in trying to reverse-engineer the card I probably didn't set up the easel part right...but, it opens and stands, so I guess that's OK!

Here's our colourQ for this week! I hope you'll be inspired to play along with us!

To be considered for this week's colourQueen, make sure to link your creation at the colourQ blog by Sunday, March 4 at noon Central Time! (Don't forget to display the challenge colors and link back to the colourQ blog in your entry post.)

Of course, The rest of the colourQ Royal Court have created some amazing projects with this week's colors! You can see them on the colourQ blog or by visiting their personal blogs. (The links are to the right next to the thumbnail of this week's challenge colors.)

Thanks so much for stopping by! I can't wait to see what you'll create with this week's colourQ!

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge #117

Hi! Thanks for stopping by for a peek at the card I made for Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps' latest sketch challenge (#117)! I've wanted to use this cutie (Elaine) for a while, and I thought she'd work well for this sketch!

It has been one of my dreams to visit London since I was in middle school...hopefully I can make it there someday for a vacation! I LOVE BBC America and am a fan of several of the shows (Being Human, Sherlock, Bedlam, Luther). I haven't gotten hooked on Downton Abbey yet, but I've heard nothing but good things about it!

Anyway, here's my card:

Other supplies: patterned paper (My Mind's Eye - Stella & Rose "Mabel" mini paper pad),  flower accent (Basic Grey), embossing folder (Sizzix), Copic markers, ribbon, Tsukineko Brilliance ink.
I made a change or two to the sketch for my card. I added a matching strip of patterned paper between the two purple stripes, and changed the location of the flower accent. Here's the original sketch:

Thanks so much for stopping by! The Krafty Girls and guests made some fabulous cards with this sketch...you can check them out and link up your own entry at the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Blog!

Gourmet Rubber Stamps - Weekly Recipe #22

Hi! Thanks for stopping by! I wanted to share my card for Gourmet Rubber Stamps' latest sketch, also known as Weekly Recipe #22!

Supplies: Kraft and Tangerine Tango card stock (Stampin' Up!), star punch (EK Success), Copic markers, sentiment and image stamps (Gourmet Rubber Stamps), Tsukineko Brilliance ink, card base, patterned paper (My Mind's Eye  - "Blink of an Eye" mini pad).

Here's the sketch, in case you'd like to play along, too! You can link up your card using this sketch and Gourmet Rubber Stamps products at their Facebook page!

Crafty Contagion: It's Not Easy Being Green!

Hi, crafty pals! Thanks for stopping by for a closer look at the card I created for the latest challenge at Crafty Contagion! This time, the Divas are getting groovy with the color green!

I'll admit, it's not one of my favorite colors, but I had fun with this challenge! I asked Scott for some ideas using the color green, and one that he came up with was a dragon. So, I picked one of my Kraftin' Kimmie stamps that features a dragon, and colored it up!

Here's my card, featuring many shades of green:
Supplies: patterned papers (Cosmo Cricket - Social Club), sentiment stamp (My Favorite Things), image stamp (Kraftin' Kimmie - Takara), Copic markers, ribbon, coin charm, brads, Spellbinders die (Labels 8), ink (Tsukineko Brilliance), card base, foam tape.
Hope you've been inspired to create something green for our challenge! We'd love to see what you create! Before you link up, don't forget to see what the other Divas of Team B have whipped up at the Crafty Contagion blog!

Thanks for stopping by!

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge #116

Hey there! Thanks for stopping by to see what I've made for the latest sketch challenge at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!

Here's my card:
Supplies: image and sentiment stamps (Kraftin' Kimmie - Snow White), border punch (Martha Stewart Crafts), sheer ribbon, embossing folder (Sizzix), cardstock (Stampin' Up!), patterned papers (floral: Basic Grey Picadilly; teal/navy polka dot: Crate Paper Farmhouse; navy blue polka dot: Bo Bunny Mamarazzi, teal/white polka dot - unsure of manufacturer), Copic markers, opaque white marker, Glossy Accents, Tsukineko Brilliance ink.
and here's the sketch it's based on:

I've slowly been building up my Kraftin' Kimmie stamp collection; I got this one a few months ago, but it's the first time I've used her on a card!

I've gotten hooked on the new show Once Upon A Time, which airs Sundays on ABC. I've always been a fan of fairy tales! I recently started re-reading all the original Grimm's Fairy Tales, and there are so many that I had never heard of before, or vaguely remember! I also didn't realize how dark some of the stories are! I guess I'm used to the fun, happy Disney versions, but I enjoy going back and reading them the "old" way to see how much of the story has been changed.

Anyway, thanks so much for stopping by! After seeing all the new releases at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps, I added the Coffee Crusader and Gadget Girl to my wish list! If you haven't seen them yet, definitely check them out in the store! If you like superheroes, you'll love this release!

Flutter By Wednesday #191 - Photo Inspiration Challenge

Happy Wednesday and welcome back for the latest Flutter By Wednesday challenge! I hope you had fun playing along with us last week for our "Anything With Wings" challenge! Don't forget, we're back to our regular requirement of including a fairy, angel or butterfly on your entry!

Here's my card, featuring Tickled Pink Stamps' "Haunting Fairy Coraline" digi from the Lil' Pinkettes collection:

Other supplies: card base, plaid patterned paper (My Mind's Eye  "A Happy Heart" mini pad), dark pink paper (Basic Grey Kissing Booth), twine (Whisker Graphics), Platinum Stickles, star punch, Sizzix embossing folder, sentiment stamp (The Cat's Pajamas), Copic markers, silver gel glitter pen, ink (Stampin' Up - Chocolate Chip).
which was inspired by the following photo... I'm sure it will help you create something pink-a-licious this week!

Since we don't have a sponsor this week, if you'd like to enter more than once, you're welcome to...just make sure to include a fairy, angel or butterfly on each entry and link up your creations at Flutter By Wednesdays!

colourQ #125

Hi crafty friends! You're just in time to discover this week's colourQ challenge! I'll admit, it was definitely a challenge for me! The colors are all so pretty, but I think I got thrown by the Basic Gray!

The border strip on my card is made of some funky netted ribbon that I found at the local stamp store, and I folded it over a few times to make the border. Now that I think about it, it probably would have looked fine just stretched across the bottom part where I placed the sentiment. I just didn't realize how thick it would actually be!

The rest of the card is pretty simple. I embossed the top part and then layered three punched out butterfly silhouettes over the squares of matching card stock.  The sentiment was stamped, matted on a scrap of grey paper and I cut a thinner strip of matching paper to go underneath to make a banner.

Other supplies: sentiment stamp (Stampin' Up!), butterfly punch (Martha Stewart Crafts), embossing folder (Sizzix), card stock (Stampin' Up!), ribbon (May Arts), striped paper (Echo Park Dots & Stripes).

To recap, here are our colors for this week's challenge!

To be considered for this week's colourQueen, make sure to link your creation at the colourQ blog by Sunday, February 26 at noon Central Time! Don't forget to display the challenge colors and link back to the colourQ blog in your entry post.

Of course, The rest of the colourQ Royal Court have created some phenomenal projects with this week's colors! You can see them on the colourQ blog or by visiting their personal blogs. (The links are to the right next to the thumbnail of this week's challenge colors.)

Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge!

Hi, crafty friends! Thanks for stopping by for a closer look at what I created for the latest Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge!

Here's the photo inspiration for this challenge:

So, I was inspired by the pinky orange color, the kraft, the heart and the red thread. I also wanted to do a love card with the dog from the "Chubby Chums" set, and here's what I made:

Other supplies: patterned paper (Crate Paper - Neighborhood , Echo Park -  Yours Truly),  Sizzix embossing folder,  twine, wooden button, heart brad, tab die (My Favorite Things), cardstock, card base, Copic markers.
Since there's technically not a "girl" dog in the set, I stamped the dog again, drew eyelids, lashes and changed the mouth. I stamped the flower from the "Hot Concoctions" set to make her a little more girly. The photo frame is cut from one of the TVs in the "Boob Tubes" set. The hearts over the boy dog's eyes are also from the "Boob Tubes" set. They're just stamped on red cardstock and popped up with foam tape. The sentiment is from the "Good Gab" set.

Thanks again for stopping by! Hope you have a wonderful and crafty weekend!

Flutter By Wednesday #190 - Anything with Wings

Happy Wednesday and welcome back for the latest challenge at Flutter By Wednesday! Back by popular demand, this week's challenge is open to anything with wings!

So feel free to make a card with bees, bats, birds, airplanes, dragonflies, or anything else you can think of that has wings! Normally, the challenge is limited to angels, fairies or butterflies (and we'll go back to that requirement next week), but not this time!

Here's my card, which is also the one I gave my dear husband for Valentine's Day:

Supplies: Image and sentiment stamps (Kraftin' Kimmie - Batty Princess), paper (Basic Grey - Kissing Booth), ink (Tsukineko; Stampin' Up - Chocolate Chip), lace (KaiserCraft), Spellbinders oval die, Sizzix embossing folder, opaque white marker, Copic markers, brads, foam tape, heart-shaped rhinestone.

Normally, Batty Princess is more of a Halloween-themed stamp, but since Scott & I share a similar sense of humor, I thought he'd get a kick out of it...and he did! The first thing he noticed was the little bat on the left with the sparkly heart!

And he made me a Valentine's Day card! It came in three parts...here they are all together:

And here are the three different layers:

(I think you can click on the pictures to make them bigger.)

It's so sweet that he made the card for me...I'm so used to making them for other people, and the fact that he surprised me by making one is extra special! It's the first time he's made one for me. He started making it at work today, and his fellow soldiers gave him design suggestions, like making a border with staples or loading it up with glitter, but he kept it simple...and I'm happy about that!

colourQ #124

Happy Valentine's Day and welcome back for the latest colourQ challenge! Thanks to everyone who played along with us last week! We always enjoy seeing what you create!

Here's my card for this week:

Supplies: card base, card stock (Stampin' Up! Real Red), manila tag, patterned paper (pink - My Mind's Eye "Love Me" mini pad; blue - Echo Park Dots & Stripes mini pad), stamps (The Craft's Meow - In Tandem set), lace (KaiserCraft), heart rhinestones, ink (Tsukineko).

I kept thinking that I needed to add some ribbon, buttons or another embellishment, but I couldn't decide, so I left it this way! I normally color the images on my cards, but I thought this one would look great without coloring. Both the image and the sentiment are stamps from The Craft's Meow!

For your reference, here's our colourQ:

To be considered for this week's colourQueen, make sure to link your creation at the colourQ blog by Sunday, February 19 at noon Central Time! Don't forget to display the challenge colors and link back to the colourQ blog in your entry post.

DeNami Design: Cute Chickies Blog Hop!

Hi! Thanks for stopping by my blog to see what I've made for DeNami's Cute Chickies Blog Hop! I hope you've been having fun and are being inspired by what everyone created for the hop!

You probably arrived from Rae Ann's blog, and you're visiting me (Suzanne Bier)! If you need to go back to the hop's master list, just visit the DeNami blog!

Here's my card:

I paired the basic Chickie and the Chickie w/Heart Balloon with the Petit Fours Espresso stamp set for my card. The pattern on the pink cardstock was made with the Mini Heart stamp in two different shades of ink. The sentiment (part of the Love Sentiments stamp set) was stamped, heat embossed and then die-cut to make the tag.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Your next stop on the hop is Laurie Willison! I'm sure she's created something super cute for you to see!

Don't forget to comment on all of the designers' blogs for your chance to win one of TWO $20 DeNami gift certificates! You have until February 13, 2012, 11:59 pm PST to leave comments and be eligible for the prize! Good luck and happy hopping!

Some Odd Girl Stamps: Color Inspiration Challenge

Hi! Thanks for stopping by for a closer look at what I created for the latest challenge at Some Odd Girl Stamps' blog! It's a color inspiration challenge this time, and is based on this photo:

For my entry, I made a tag featuring SOG's Bright Lights Kaylee digi. She's normally a Christmas holiday image, but I repurposed her for Valentine's Day! Instead of her usual string of lights, she's stringing up a garland of hearts! I love how she came together!

I think it's fun to be able to use images like this one at different times of the year...she's just so cute, I have a hard time not using her on other projects besides Christmas ones!

I never change the actual file, but with a little bit of creative fussy cutting, putting new stamped shapes over the regular parts, and putting a sentiment over a part of the image I needed to cover up, this Kaylee digi is ready to show some love for Valentine's Day!

If you'd like to check out the other entries for this challenge, or find out the details to create your own entry, visit the Some Odd Girl Stamps blog!

Thanks again for stopping by!
