The latest challenge at Some Odd Girl Digital Stamps is to create something MOM-themed! And, Some Odd Girl Digital Stamps recently released a set of related digis featuring brides, new moms & babies!
My entry features one of my favorite SOG digis, "Garden Mae"! I chose her for my card because she reminds me of my mom, who loves gardening and working in her flower beds. I wish I had inherited her talents for working with plants and flowers...her knowledge and skill with gardening are amazing!

Here's my card:

Supplies: paper (Echo Park - For the Record, Basic Grey - Life of the Party), handmade flowers, typed sentiment, white gel pen, foam squares markers (Copic).

Thanks for stopping by! This challenge runs until May 3 at midnight EST.

The random winner will get 2 digis from the Some Odd Girl shop! Check out the Odd Girls' creations for this challenge at the Some Odd Girl Digital Stamps blog and see what others have entered! Then link up your entry!

colourQ #81

Happy Tuesday and welcome back for another colourQ challenge!

Spring is slowly coming back to Washington...we had sunshine over the weekend, although it's still kind of chilly out there! I'm just happy to see some sun after all those months of rain!

Since Easter is a week away, and I'm sure you have some of your own Spring Fever, these colors will no doubt inspire you (not to mention those cute little bunnies in the photo):

Here's my card:

Supplies: onesie stamp (Studio G), snail stamp (Lawn Fawn, Critters in the 'Burbs), cardstock, typed sentiment, Copic markers, twine.

To make the clothespins, I drew a line on a scrap of kraft cardstock with a black pen, ran the scrap through my Xyron sticker maker, then cut fringe pieces into the cardstock to make the clothespins!

I also have the wooden mini ones, but I like to make these for cards where I'm using a bunch of clothespins in the design.

The grass was cut freehand on a strip of Old Olive cardstock.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I can't wait to see what you'll create with this week's set of challenge colors!

For more colour-ful inspiration, visit the rest of the colourQ Royal Court Design Team! Their blog links can be found to the left under the thumbnail photo of this week's colors!

Don't forget to link your creation on the colourQ blog! See you there!

Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps challenge #39

Hi and welcome back for another Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps Challenge (#39)!
This week's challenge is to include a handmade embellishment on your entry!

This week's winner will receive the adorable Traveling Josh stamp!

For my card, I used Turntable Josh:

Supplies: ink (Tsukineko Brilliance - Graphite Black), paper (Basic Grey Oliver and scraps from Fancy Pants and My Mind's Eye), markers (Copic), metallic glitter brads, typed sentiment.

My handmade embellishment is the LP record. I made it by layering a green circle on top of a black circle and adding the detail with a white gel pen. To complete the record, I added a silver brad in the center to keep the circles together.

Thanks for stopping by!

To play along with this challenge, upload a photo of your project and provide a direct link in the linky widget at the bottom of the Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps challenge post.

Unscripted Sketches #102

Happy Saturday and welcome back for another Unscripted Sketches Challenge (#102)!

First, I'd like to thank everybody who stopped by to leave comments during our 100th sketch blogiversary celebration! Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and leave some love! Hope you all had fun!

If you’re just finding Unscripted Sketches, every Saturday morning we post a sketch for the week. Flip the sketch, rotate it…create a card, a scrapbook page, or anything your imagination comes up with! There’s no right or wrong way, as long as you’re using the Unscripted Sketch as the inspiration and basis of your creation!
This week's challenge also features an optional piggyback challenge, which is to recycle or reuse something on your card or project! Here's our sketch for this week:

My card unfortunately doesn't feature anything recycled on it because I made it before the piggyback challenge was announced. I could make up a story about re-using cotton balls for the bunny tails, but that wouldn't be true...they're little pom poms from the kids' craft section!

Other supplies: paper (We R Memory Keepers), ink (Tsukineko Brilliance), stamp (Four Bunnies by Rubbermoon), markers (Copic), rhinestones, typed sentiment, cardstock.

Thanks for hopping by to look at my card!

The rest of the design team have some innovative ways of re-using items on their projects...don't forget to check them out: Arielle, Becky, CherylAnn, Debbie, Gardenia, Jenny, KathyJo, Linda, Loes, Mary, Monique, Regan, Rudlis, Sarah Kaye, Steph, Susan, and Val!

And after you've been inspired, link your creation on the Unscripted Sketches blog!

colourQ challenge #80

Happy Tuesday and welcome back for another colourQ challenge (#80)! Today's challenge colors were inspired by these cute reusable lunch bags:

Although I don't have kids yet, I thought these colors would work well for an end of the year teacher thank you card and bookmark:

Supplies: Cardstock (Stampin' Up!), image stamp (Lawn Fawn), ruler paper (Basic Grey Life of the Party mini pad), letter stickers (Cosmo Cricket), border punch (Fiskars), embossing folder (Sizzix), twine, Copic markers, sentiment (self-typed).

I have a hard time matching Copic colors to the Kiwi Kiss color. For some reason, what I think is Kiwi Kiss comes out more lime green. Anybody have a marker/color combo suggestion?

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Some Odd Girl Digital Stamps: Clean & Simple Challenge!

I'm very excited about the latest challenge over at Some Odd Girl Digital Stamps! It's a "Clean & Simple" challenge, and that's definitely my style!

The first card was made with SOG's "Kody Rocks" digi:

Other supplies: Paper (Fancy Pants), Copic markers, deckle edge scissors, metal brads.

My second card was made with SOG's "Roller Mae":

Other supplies: Paper (My Mind's Eye), border punch (American Girl Crafts), Copic markers, Stickles.

The third card, made with "Garden Mae" is kind of a bonus card, because I made it for a different challenge, but I'm happy with how it came out...so I wanted to share it with you! I typed the sentiments for all three cards, which is something I've done a lot of lately!

Both Roller Mae and Garden Mae were flipped before they were printed so I could get them facing in the other direction.

Other supplies: Paper (SEI), buttons, twine, paper flower, adhesive pearl, Copic markers.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

If you'd like to play along with the Some Odd Girl "Clean and Simple" challenge, there's still time to get linked up! The contest runs until April 19 at midnight Eastern time. One lucky winner will receive 2 digis from the SOG shop!

Happy Saturday and welcome back for another Unscripted Sketch! Hope you had lots of fun with the blog hop and the games and the sketch for our blogiversary celebration!

Here's this week's sketch...I had fun with it!

For my card, I used some paper from SEI's Sunny Day collection with a digital stamp from Some Odd Girl Digital Stamps. The sentiment is one that I typed and printed, then die-cut with Spellbinders.

I colored the image with Copics and also colored the pearl in the center of the flower to match the background paper.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

colourQ #79

Happy Tuesday and welcome back for another colourQ challenge! We've got another stunning set of colors for you to play with this week!

Here's my card! The main image is from the "So Sweet" stamps from My Mind's Eye (Stella and Rose, Mabel collection).

I colored the lampshade with three of the challenge colors after stamping the image in black. I think the papers I used were from the various mini pads of the Stella and Rose collection.

SCRSC - Neutrals with a splash of color

Hi there! In case you're visiting from the Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps blog, I'm Suzanne Bier and I'm excited to be Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps' guest designer for April!

I've been paper crafting for as long as I can remember, and I discovered Sparkle Creations stamps last year when I met Sparkle at my monthly stamping group!

I love her stamps, and she is someone I'm definitely glad to call my friend! I'll get to see her this weekend at our monthly meetup, and I think there's some fun planned for this weekend to celebrate her birthday!

This week's Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps Challenge is to use neutrals with a splash of color on your creation!

For my card, I used one of my favorite SCRS stamps, "Street Corner Josh." I think I've used him and Cafe' Lucy on more of my cards than any other! Maybe it's because I love coffee so much?

I decided to use kraft shades for the neutral and green as my splash of color:

Other supplies: Copic markers, Making Memories letter stickers, buttons, twine, paper from Bo Bunny's Vickie B and Basic Grey's Kraft Basics collection, cardstock.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I'm excited to watch Castle tonight on ABC with my husband! It's one of the shows I've gotten him hooked on, and it's another way for us to spend time together!

Oh, don't forget to get your entry linked up at the Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps blog! The deadline for this week's challenge is Sunday, April 10th @ 9 PM PST!

Moxie Fab World's "In My Beautiful Balloon" Challenge!

Hot air balloons seem to be a popular trend...they've been appearing on jewelry, patterned paper, wall art, and, of course cards and craft projects!

About a month ago, I began experimenting with drawing my own digital stamps, and one of the first that I drew was a hot air balloon because I had noticed them in more and more papercrafting articles and other craft web sites.

The latest challenge over at the Moxie Fab World blog features these stylish soarers -- the "In My Beautiful Balloon" Challenge!

Cath, owner and author of Moxie Fab World and trends editor for Paper Crafts magazine, assembled some lofty examples of moxie fab balloon sightings as inspiration for the challenge! This one is my favorite...I love the simple, bright graphics on this card by Julie Campbell, which appears in the March/April issue of Paper Crafts magazine!

To see all of the inspiring photos that Cath chose for this challenge, visit the Moxie Fab World blog!

So, for my card, I drew the clouds and balloon seperately in a graphic design program. Then, I printed a bunch of the clouds, cut them out and arranged them on the background, which uses paper from My Mind's Eye.

Next, I printed and paper pieced the balloon and its basket with papers from We R Memory Keepers and Basic Grey. Then, I typed the sentiment, printed it, and completed the card by accenting the heart on the balloon with Stickles.

I'm hoping to draw more digis and eventually open my own web or Etsy store...hopefully by the end of the year! I still need to come up with a company name and figure out a few other things, but it's definitely in the works!

Thanks so much for stopping by to look at my card!

There's still time to play along with the "In My Beautiful Balloon" challenge, so visit the Moxie Fab World blog, get all the details, and get linked up with your entry before midnight on April 18!
