colourQ #65

Welcome back for the last colourQ challenge of 2010! Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas holiday! I can't wait to see what you'll create with this week's set of challenge colors!

Here's my card! I've been saving this paper from Hambly Studios for a while...and I couldn't wait to use it for this card!

The stamps I used are from Lawn Fawn (Sew Lovely set). The strip of gray is cardstock that I matted on black and used a white gel pen to add the stitching.

Thanks for stopping by to look at my card! The colourQ Royal Court has some magnificent creations to inspire you! Happy crafting!

Unscripted Sketches #87

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Hope you are all having a fun Christmas holiday! We're over at Scott's sister's house enjoying Christmas and spending time with our niece...always a good time!

Not only is today Christmas, but it's also Saturday, and that means it's time for another Unscripted Sketch! Hopefully this weekend you'll have time to get crafty and make something wonderful with this week's sketch!

I often start working on holiday cards way ahead of time, because I donate many of my cards. Most of the time, the deadlines are several months early, so, I've already started on Valentine cards...and I made one of them with this week's sketch!

For this card, I used stamps from Lawn Fawn's "Hats Off to You" and "Critters in the 'Burbs" sets, and the sentiment was stamped using"Jessie's ABC's." I used patterned paper from Bo Bunny & Die Cuts with a View. The silver paper is the back of some American Crafts paper. I added faux stitching with a white gel pen and replaced the O in "love" with a heart-shaped rhinestone.

Thanks for stopping by to look at my card!  Visit Unscripted Sketches to see what the other fantastic design team girls have created with this week's challenge sketch! I can't wait to see what you'll be inspired to create!

I'm thrilled to announce that I'm the newest member of the colourQ Royal Court Design Team! All of the ladies on the team are super talented and creative, and I'm honored to be creating along with them!

This is my official "debut" week, so without further introduction, here are this week's challenge colors:

Here's my card:

Supplies: ink (aMuse), stamps (Lawn Fawn), cardstock (Stampin' Up!), embossing folder (Sizzix), paper (Bo Bunny), die cut template (Spellbinders), ribbon.

I love the shades of pink and red in the challenge colors, and thought they'd be perfect for a love/valentine card, and also to use some new stamps I got from Lawn Fawn!

Thanks for stopping by to look at my card! I can't wait to see what you'll create with this week's colourQ challenge colors! The other Royal Court members have created some beautiful examples for you, and to visit their blogs, just click on the links to the right!

Unscripted Sketches #86

Happy Saturday and welcome back for another Unscripted Sketch!

If you’re just finding Unscripted Sketches, every Saturday morning we post a sketch for the week. Flip the sketch, rotate it…create a card, a scrapbook page, or anything your imagination comes up with! There’s no right or wrong way, as long as you’re using the Unscripted Sketch as the inspiration and basis of your creation!

Are you ready for the holidays? I am, for the most part...my Christmas cards were mailed last week, and our Christmas shopping has been finished for a while.

Thursday night, I finished a set of generic "kid" birthday cards for my sister-in-law (part of her Christmas gift). All we have left is to wrap presents, which I enjoy doing...I hope to get those done this weekend!

Now, on to this week's sketch:

There's an optional piggyback challenge this week, which is to make your entry (card, scrapbook page or other project) using NO patterned paper!

This piggyback was especially tough for me, because I LOVE using patterned paper on my cards! If going without patterned paper is not an option for you, NO WORRIES...it's not a mandatory part of playing along with us this week!

Here's the card I made for this week's sketch:

Supplies: stamp (Imaginisce), cardstock (Stampin' Up!), white gel pen, markers (Copic), embossing folder (Sizzix); sentiment printed using CK Journaling font with an inkjet printer.

I can't wait to see what you'll create with this week's Unscripted Sketch! Don't forget to visit the other fabulous Unscripted Sketches team members: Alanna, Angy, April, Arielle, Becky, CherylAnn, Debbie, Gardenia, Jenny, Lelia, Linda, Marcy, Sarah Kaye and Stephanie!

colourQ #63

I'm so excited to be a new member of the colourQ Royal Court Design Team! Even though my "official" start isn't until next week, I still wanted to play along with this week's set of challenge colors, which are inspired by napkins from World Market (I love that store)!

Here are the colors for colourQ Challenge #63:

and here's my card:

One of my goals is to finish all my upcoming design team cards before we head to California for Christmas. As long as I make and photograph the cards, I can blog from the road!

Supplies: cardstock (Stampin' Up!), image stamps (Lawn Fawn - dog & Santa hat), (The Rubber Cafe' - bone), sentiment stamp (Stampin' Up!), ink (aMuse), markers (Copic), patterned paper (American Crafts, Bo Bunny Double Dot), border punch (Fiskars), ribbon (Stampin' Up!).

Thanks so much for stopping by to look at my card!

Visit the colourQ for more festive inspiration...I can't wait to see what you'll create with this week's set of challenge colors! You can also visit the other members of the Royal Court by clicking on the links to the right! Happy crafting!

Lawn Fawn Card #3

This is my third entry for Lawn Fawn's first challenge (the winner will be featured in Lawn Fawn's first catalog and will be showcased in the Lawn Fawn booth at CHA in January):

I used Lawn Fawn's "Critters in the Burbs" set for this one...the background is hand-stamped and colored using the acorn stamp from the set. I used the same acorn to mask a stamped pile at the bottom of the tree. I used "Jessie's ABC's" to create the custom sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by to look at my card! (My other two entries can be found HERE and HERE.)

For all the details on this challenge (it runs until December 17th at 11:59 PM EST) and to see the other entries, visit the Lawn Fawn blog!

Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps Challenge #23

Even though I'd love to try real machine stitching on my cards, for this week's Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamp Challenge, I went with faux stitching and Sparkle Creations' Scooter Chloe! This week's random challenge winner over at SCRS will get Turntable Josh!

I am so glad Bo Bunny started releasing mini paper pads with their new collections! I'm using mini papers from their new Crazy Love collection on my card! The border strip that I used is from Basic Grey's Kraft Basics mini pad.

Other supplies: cardstock (Stampin' Up!), ink (aMuse), sentiment stamp (Lawn Fawn), brads, embossing folder (Sizzix), adhesive foam squares.

I colored Chloe with my Copics and added faux stitching with a white gel pen. I also embossed a piece of kraft cardstock to mat Chloe on.

Thanks for stopping by to look at my card!

Lawn Fawn Card Contest (with Sew Lovely set)

Lawn Fawn Stamps is hosting a contest to feature fan-made cards in their booth at CHA in January (and in their first ever catalog!)...since I love their stamps, I had to make some cards to enter!

If you're interested in entering, too, you can find all the details on the contest and which stamp sets to use on the Lawn Fawn blog!

Here's my first card using their Sew Lovely stamp set (one of the first Lawn Fawn sets I bought, and still one of my favorites):

Unscripted Sketches #85

Happy Saturday and welcome back for another Unscripted Sketch!

Today I get to "play" with my monthly stamp group, The Stamping Together Divas! I'm so excited! It's definitely one of the highlights of each month for me!

Here's this week's sketch (#85):

For my card, I combined papers from My Little Shoebox with this darling stamp by Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps (Lantern Rin)! Sparkle is also part of my monthly stamping group, and she's the one who persuaded me to make the jump to Copics (although I didn't need much persuading)!

The card's sentiment comes from Lawn Fawn's "How Delightful" set. I thought it would work well with the lantern theme. I'm still working on improving my Copic coloring skills, and I hope to take classes and possibly get certified in 2011.

Thanks for stopping by to look at my card... I hope I've inspired you to do something crafty this weekend! I can't wait to see what you'll create with this week's Unscripted Sketch!

colourQ #62

The colors in this week's colourQ challenge definitely inspired me to get crafting!

What bright, beautiful festive colors! It's good to be done with my Christmas cards, so it's fun for me to use holiday colors like these in different ways! I thought these colors would work great with one of the stamps I bought from The Greeting Farm:

Supplies: Cardstock (Stampin' Up!), patterned paper (Basic Grey, October Afternoon, Imaginisce, Sassafras), ink (AMuse), markers (Copic), sentiment sticker (SRM Stickers), white and silver gel pens, foam squares, scalloped circle punch, adhesive gems.

Thanks for stopping by to look at my card!

Stacey's Stamping Stage: Curtain Call Act 59

This week's Curtain Call color challenge at Stacey's Stamping Stage features some festive holiday colors!

For my card, I used a wreath stamp from The Rubber Cafe, colored it with some Copics and added some adhesive rhinestones:

Other supplies: Adhesive rhinestones (Queen & Co.), Ink (aMuse), rub-on (Making Memories), embossing folder (Sizzix)

I used the Basic Gray cardstock as a mat/frame for my card, then layered an embossed rectangle of Whisper White. The wreath was cut out and I used foam squares for dimension. After applying the sentiment to white cardstock, I matted it on Always Artichoke and then on top of a strip of Jillibean Soup patterned paper.

Thanks for stopping by to look at my card!

There's still time to get linked up with this week's Curtain Call challenge! The deadline is Friday, December 10th before midnight (CST)! Visit Stacey's Stamping Stage for all the details!

Unscripted Sketches #84

Happy Saturday and welcome back for another week of Unscripted Sketches!

I'm feeling pretty good now that I've finished my Christmas cards! I only send out about 20 each year, so it's never a huge project. The hardest part for me is deciding on my design, paper, and image!

So, now that my Christmas cards are done, I can feel better about playing with other stamps and papers!

Here's this week's Unscripted Sketch:

I used a digital stamp from The Greeting Farm for my card, and paired it with paper from The Paper Loft's Dude collection:

Other supplies: Cardstock (Stampin' Up!), paper (Cosmo Cricket), Stickles, glaze gel pens, ribbon.

I'm still working on improving my Copic coloring skills, I've done a lot of practicing lately, which involves printing out digi stamps on cardstock, and just coloring a bunch of images to practice. It also gives me lots of pre-finished images to choose from for my cards!

Thanks for stopping by! Don't forget to see what the other fabulous Unscripted Sketches Design Team ladies have in store for you: Alanna, Angy, April, Arielle, Becky, CherylAnn, Debbie, Gardenia, Jenny, Lelia, Linda, Marcy, Sarah Kaye and Stephanie!

I can't wait to see what you'll create with this week's Unscripted Sketch! You all ROCK!

Get Sketchy #67

This week's Get Sketchy challenge is sponsored by Prima and is based on the following sketch:

The row of circles on the sketch reminded me of snowballs, so I paired them with mittens for my card!

The sketch shows 7 circles, but I changed it to 6 so I wouldn't have a non-paired mitten! The papers on my card are from Basic Grey's Jovial and American Crafts' Merrymint collections. The mitten stamps and rub-on sentiments are by Imaginisce.

Thanks for stopping by to look at my card!

For all the challenge details, visit the Get Sketchy blog!

Stampin' Celebration #30

This week's Stampin' Celebration challenge features some gorgeous, festive photo inspiration:

I was inspired by the various shades of purple and the silvery metallics when I made my card:

I used one of the Greeting Farm's Anya stamps, with some paper from Cosmo Cricket and Bo Bunny on my card. The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn. I made a stencil with a star punch and stenciled the stars on the border strip. I border punched a strip of paper and inked it with silver metallic ink. The stamp is colored with Copic markers.

Thanks for stopping by to look at my card! There's still time to get linked up for this week's Stampin' Celebration challenge!

Color Throwdown #121

I'm participating in this week's Color Throwdown challenge (#121)...I couldn't resist the cool, wintery colors!

and here's my card!

I used some Technique Tuesday stamps to make the snowflake backgrounds on the cardstock, and embossed some Natural White cardstock for the base. After assembling the mosaic of squares, I die-cut a snowflake and added Stickles to give it some sparkle! To finish the card, I added some adhesive gems and a rub-on sentiment on matching cardstock.

Thanks for stopping by! Visit The Color Throwdown for more beautiful, cool inspiration!

Sketches by Carly #19

I'm participating in this week's Sketches by Carly challenge, which is sponsored by Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps! The winner of this week's challenge will receive two of Sparkle's stamps to be released later this month -- Cupid Emily and Valentine Oliver!

Here's Carly's Sketch #19:

...and here's my card, using Sparkle Creations' Cafe Lucy and some paper from Basic Grey!

Other supplies: Sentiment stamp (Elzybells), flower (Prima), brad (Karen Foster), Ink (aMuse), markers (Copic), paper (Basic Grey's Marrakesh and Nook & Pantry collections), cardstock (Stampin' Up!)

Thanks for stopping by to look at my card!

There's still time to enter! The contest runs on the Sketches by Carly blog until midnight, Thursday, Dec. 16th!
