Unscripted Sketches #83

Happy Saturday and welcome back for another Unscripted Sketch!

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday! We had a very low-key celebration at home, just my husband, me and our dog! A few years ago, we decided to downsize our Thanksgiving turkey to just a turkey breast, which is just fine for the two of us! (It also leaves us with WAY less left over!)

And now, without further delay, here's the Unscripted Sketch for this week!

I paired this week's sketch with Basic Grey's Oliver paper and this adorable "Street Corner Josh" stamp from Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps!

Other supplies: coffee cup stamp and sentiment (Elzybells Art Stamps), Ink (Stampin' Up!), cardstock (Stampin' Up!), markers (Copic)

Thanks for visiting!

Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger: It's Snowing Gingerbread!

This week's Tuesday Trigger over at Moxie Fab World combines both the warmth of gingerbread with the frost of winter:

We've had a serious snowfall here in eastern Washington, which has given me lots of wintertime inspiration and indoor crafty time!

I was inspired by the kraft-like combo of the white icing with the gingerbread when I made my card:

Supplies: cardstock and ink (Stampin' Up!), paper (Jillibean Soup, Imaginisce), sentiment stamp (Imaginisce), white opaque gel pen, die cut shapes and embossing folder (Sizzix), buttons.

I embossed the card base, then added strips of kraft cardstock and patterned paper. Then, I decorated die-cut snowflakes with a white gel pen and some buttons. Finally, I stamped a sentiment, matted it with cardstock, and adhered it to the card.

Thanks for stopping by to look at my card!

There's lots more Moxie Fab inspiration over at Cath's blog, and you still have time to post your Tuesday Trigger-inspired creations before Sunday, December 5th! Click HERE for all the trigger-ific details!

Unscripted Sketches #82

Happy Saturday! Welcome back for another Unscripted Sketch!

Every Saturday morning we post a sketch for the week. Flip the sketch, rotate it… create a card, a scrapbook page, or anything your imagination comes up with! There's no right or wrong way, as long as you're using the Unscripted Sketch as the inspiration and basis of your creation!

Here's the sketch for this week's challenge:

I used the sketch for a holiday card, featuring paper by Collage Press and a cute stamped image from Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps! I tied a bow in place of the rectangle in the lower right hand corner.

Today I'm meeting up with my monthly stamp group to get some holiday cards done! I'm still trying to decide if I should do all my cards in the same design, or send a different one to each person! I only send out about 20 cards each year, so either choice wouldn't be that bad!

Thanks for stopping by, and I can't wait to see what you'll create with this week's Unscripted Sketch!

The rest of the Unscripted Sketches Design Team has more crafty inspiration for you, too! Don't forget to stop by their blogs, too: Alanna, Angy, April, Arielle, Becky, CherylAnn, Debbie, Gardenia, Jenny, Lelia, Linda, Marcy, Sarah Kaye and Stephanie!

Bonus Card: Paper Crafts Card Swap

Just wanted to share with y'all the card that I made for the Paper Crafts Card Swap that I'm participating in at CKC-Seattle tonight!

I used papers by Jillibean Soup and some alpha stamps from We R Memory Keepers for my card. I used Stampin' Up Only Orange for the letters, and Bazzill cardstock. To make the "flash" effect, I cut the sun shape and the circle with the Cricut and layered the shapes.

Thanks for stopping by to visit!

I'll do my best to post some pictures from CKC-Seattle later this weekend! Hope you're having a crafty weekend, too!

Color Throwdown #118

At first, I thought of using a gingerbread stamp for this week's Color Throwdown challenge, but I went with reindeer instead!

Here are the colors for Throwdown #118:

I used a reindeer stamp by Imaginisce for my card. The scarves came from a different image stamp.

I embossed some Cherry Cobbler cardstock for the background and some vellum to look like snow. I added brads for the reindeer's noses (with a red one for Rudolph, of course)!

I used a rub-on sentiment from Making Memories. The ribbon is actually some polka dot grosgrain in Soft Suede by Stampin' Up, but since I already used the polka dots as snow, I thought I'd break things up with the solid side of the ribbon.

Thanks for stopping by to look at my card! There are lots more inspiring entries for you to check out at the Color Throwdown...and there's still time to link your entry!

Curtain Call Act 55

What a fun set of colors to be inspired by for this week's Curtain Call challenge:

I took the colors and made a holiday card:

The stamps are from Imaginisce. I pieced the hat and scarf from some other Imaginisce stamps that I have. The cardstock that I embossed is from Stampin' Up! Everything was stamped in SU Chocolate Chip. I used some papers from SEI and Making Memories to work in the brown, black and white.

Thanks for stopping by to look at my card!

There's still time to play along! Just link up your Curtain Call Act 55 creation before midnight (CST) on Friday, November 12!

Stampin' Celebration #27

The design team over at Stampin' Celebration has come up with another inspiring group of photos for this week's challenge:

For my card, I was inspired by the colors in the photos, and the fall theme:

Supplies: Stamps (Basic Grey), Paper (My Mind's Eye), Cardstock & Ink (Stampin' Up!)

I kept my card simple with some image and sentiment stamps from Basic Grey. I embossed and inked some cardstock for the base, border punched a strip of cardstock for the bottom and added a larger strip of patterned paper to mount the image and sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my card!

Check out what's new over at Stampin' Celebration, too!

Unscripted Sketches #80

Happy Saturday! It's time for another Unscripted Sketch!

If you're just discovering Unscripted Sketches, every Saturday morning we post a sketch for the week. Flip it, rotate it… create a card, scrapbook page or other project with our sketch. There's no right or wrong way, as long as you are using the Unscripted Sketch as the basis of your creation!

Here's Sketch #80!

For my card, I combined a cute image from Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps (Scooter Chloe) with some mini papers from Cosmo Cricket's Pixielicious collection!

I colored the image with a combination of markers, gel pens and colored pencils. I stamped a few extra presents and popped them up with foam squares. The large image is taking the place of the other rectangle in the sketch. I used two different paper punches to make the sun accent.

Thanks for stopping by to look at my card!

I hope you're inspired to get crafting with our sketch! For more inspiration, don't forget to visit the rest of the Unscripted team: Alanna, Angy, April, Arielle, Becky, CherylAnn, Debbie, Gardenia, Jenny, Lelia, Linda, Marcy, Sarah Kaye and Stephanie!

Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger: A Study In Blue

It's time for another Tuesday Trigger, courtesy of Moxie Fab World! This time, it's "A Study In Blue," but there's no need to be sad! Just check out this fab inspiration:

For my card, I focused on the blue and white, with some silver thrown in:

Supplies: Cardstock (Stampin' Up!), Ink: (Stampin' Up & Encore!), Embossing Folders (Sizzix), acrylic accents (Imaginisce), Other: ribbon, Stickles.

I embossed some cardstock, used silver and white ink to highlight the embossing. Then I embossed some vellum and attached that over the background. I punched holes and tied the ribbon, then stamped my sentiment and inked the edges. Some acrylic Stickled snowflake accents finish off the card.

Thanks for stopping by!

There's still time to play along with this week's Tuesday Trigger at Moxie Fab World! Check out the guidelines and get your entry linked up before Sunday, November 7!

Color Throwdown #116

We went to Home Depot today, and when we walked in, my husband saw that all of the artificial Christmas trees were on display and said, "Already? It's not even Thanksgiving." We both remember when the day after Thanksgiving was the "official" start of the Christmas season, but it seems that every year, Christmas displays are out earlier and earlier!

I have to admit, I'm kind of putting off making our Christmas cards. Since I've started card making as a hobby, my worry is that people know I make cards and that they won't be pretty or fancy enough! I know, that's pretty silly, but hopefully I can get them made soon!

It's great to work on card challenges because they make me think of color combinations or ideas that inspire other projects, and the color combo for this week's Color Throwdown challenge is perfect for getting in the holiday spirit:

I used a cute cardinal stamp from Imaginisce as the main image on my card:

Supplies: Stamps (cardinal - Imaginisce, sentiment - Studio G), Ink (Stampin' Up!), Paper (Basic Grey), Cardstock (Stampin' Up!), Jeweled snowflake (Imaginisce).

My Mom's favorite bird is the cardinal, and whenever I see one, I think of her. This could even be the card I send her for Christmas! I actually paper-pieced the cardinal...even his tiny earmuffs!

Thanks so much for stopping by to look at my card!

I hope you're inspired with a bit of the Christmas spirit...and there's lots more to see over at the Color Throwdown!

Get Sketchy #62

For this week's Get Sketchy challenge, I used some beautiful fall-colored papers from Basic Grey's Pyrus collection.

Fall is my favorite time of year...I love living in an area where the leaves change colors! I really need to get out and take pictures before all the leaves fall off of the trees!

Here's the sketch for this week:

and here's my card...I added a spot for an epoxy accent that I made with Glossy Accents. After it was dry, I inked the top to give it a more distressed and aged look.

After I glued everything down, I realized my diagonal is opposite the sketch, but it still looks fine! I think it's because I intended to flip the sketch to make a vertical card  and somehow flipped the direction of the diagonal!

Supplies: Paper (Basic Grey's Pyrus collection), Stamps & Ink (Stampin' Up! Chocolate Chip Ink and Dream Garden stamp set), Other: Glossy Accents.

Thanks for stopping by to look at my card!

There's still time to play along with this week's Get Sketchy challenge and see what the design team has created with this week's sketch!
