Stampin' Royalty #33

This week, the Stampin' Royalty goddesses are challenging you to a "School Days" themed challenge. To enter, create a card, scrapbook layout, 3-D Project or My Digital Studio project using this theme the main inspiration behind your project.

For my entry, I made an easel card:

I don't have any kids yet, so I don't have a lot of school-related stamps. I used an Imaginisce clear worm stamp and an apple stamp (it had a smiley face on it, but I masked that out). I used Lawn Fawn's "Harold's ABCs" set to stamp the sentiment.

The papers I used are from Sassafrass (Cherry Delicious & Nerdy Bird collections) and Cosmo Cricket (Nutmeg & Material Girl collections). I also used a scrap of some discontinued SU paper to frame the text section that the bookworm is "busting" out of.

Thanks for looking at my card! Visit Stampin' Royalty to see what the team has designed this week, and to check out the other awesome entries for this challenge!

colourQ #46

This week's colourQ challenge is inspired by this cute kid's apron:

I tried to match my card as close as possible to the challenge colors with what I had on hand:

I used an image stamp from Lawn Fawn's Swimsuit Season set, and a rub-on from Pebbles, Inc. The two flowers, the yellow polka dot and the green striped paper are also from Pebbles. The strip of red polka-dot paper is by Cosmo Cricket, and the lemon paper is by Jillibean Soup.

Thanks for looking at my card! There are lots more awesome creations for this challenge at the colourQ!

Stampin' Celebration #16

For this week's Stampin' Celebration challenge, I did some paper piecing to create a topiary based on these inspiration photos:

I stamped an image from Stampin' Up's "Artistic Etchings" set with Old Olive ink on some cardstock backing that I saved from some Prima flowers. I used a circle punch to cut it from the backing.

For the stem, I stamped a woodgrain pattern on some Soft Suede cardstock. I paper pieced the terra cotta pot from some Dusty Durango card stock  and glued on a bow that I tied from some Martha Stewart ribbon.

The sentiment was also stamped in Old Olive using one of my favorite sentiments from the Level 3 SU Hostess set "Occasional Quotes." Both the patterned and brown paper are from Pebbles Inc.  I used Bo Bunny Sunflower Double Dot for the card background and SU kraft for the card base.

The hearts were made with a tiny heart punch. I added a little sparkle with a stardust gel pen.

Thanks so much for looking at my card!
I hope you'll play along with Stampin' Celebration's challenge this week!

SRM Stickers & Cosmo Cricket Card Sketch Challenge

This is my first time participating in an SRM Stickers card challenge. I recently bought the Happy Birthday and Thinking of You sentiment stickers, and I enjoy working with them!

Here's the sketch for the challenge:

For my entry, I made my first easel card and used papers from Cosmo Cricket's Garden Variety, DeLovely and Material Girl collections!

Here's a picture of the card front:

and here is the full view of the easel card:

To make the sun, I used an i-Top punch and a scalloped circle punch. I used foam squares to give the center more dimension.

I used two sticker sentiments from the Thinking of You collection and some Cosmo Cricket chipboard accents to complete the card after punching a border strip out of the same paper that I used to make the sun.

Thanks so much for looking at my card!

Color Throwdown #106

This week's group of colors at the Color Throwdown are mostly soft, and would make a great baby or beach card, but I went in a different direction...I chose to make a wedding card.

Here are the challenge colors:

For my card, I used a wedding cake stamp by AMuse Art Stamps and a sentiment stamp by Stampin' Up! Both the image and sentiment were stamped in SU Chocolate Chip ink.

The card base is kraft cardstock. I embossed a strip of light blue cardstock and punched a hole for the image.

Instead of popping up the cake, I added foam squares to the underside of the cardstock to give the image a recessed effect.

I cut a border strip from some Pink Paislee paper, matted the sentiment on a scrap of Bazzill Swiss Dot cardstock, and added a gem brad to the center of two paper flowers. To finish the card, I added sparkly detail to the cake with a stardust gel pen.

Thanks for looking at my card!

Visit the Color Throwdown to see what the design team created for these colors, and to check out the other entries for this week's challenge!

Curtain Call #43

It's been pretty hot here the past few days, and I'm glad that it's finally cooling down a bit. We had temperatures this weekend in the high 80's and low 90's...which is hard to deal with when you don't have A/C in your home! Good thing we're finally cooling off today!

This week's Curtain Call Challenge features both warm and cool colors:

I think the hardest part for me was coming up with a sentiment to use on my card. I knew what I wanted the card to look like, but once it was all together, I couldn't come up with something "cute" to say! But, I finally figured something out, and used it to carry the design over to the inside of the card.

I used Lawn Fawn's "Swimsuit Season" for the images, and "Harold's ABCs." Everything was stamped in Stampin' Up Chocolate Chip ink.

The orange paper is by ki Memories, and the kiwi-ish paper is by My Mind's Eye. The ribbon is also by Stampin' Up. I used an EK Success border punch to make the waves on the front of the card, and embossed a cardstock strip with the Big Shot.

Thanks for looking at my card!

CPS #180

The card I'm posting for this week's CPS challenge (#180) isn't the first one I made for it... I redid my card because I wasn't happy with the first one, and went in a very different direction...I'm much happier with this one!

Here's the sketch for this week:

For my card, I used a stamp from AMuse's Sushi set. The papers are by KaiserCraft. The red cardstock is the back of a piece of Bo Bunny Double Dot. I stamped everything in Stampin' Up Basic Black ink.

I accented the image with a black glaze gel pen and some fine-tipped colored pens.

This is the inside of the card...the letters are stamped using Lawn Fawn's Harold's ABCs set.

Thanks for looking at my card! You can see the other entries at Card Positioning Systems (CPS). This week's challenge is sponsored by Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!

Stampin' Royalty #32

This week, the Stampin' Royalty goddesses are challenging you with a color challenge! Check it out:

The rules are simple: create a card, scrapbook layout, 3-D Project or My Digital Studio project using the color combo above as the main inspiration for your project.

For my card, I had to substitute a bit...I don't have the new Stampin' Up colors yet.

The card base is SU kraft cardstock. The stamped images and sentiment are by Lawn Fawn (Sew Lovely set). The patterned paper is by Jillibean Soup. I embossed the card base with the Big Shot using a SU-exclusive embossing folder. The measuring tape is from Cosmo Cricket's Material Girl collection.

Thanks for looking at my card!

Visit Stampin' Royalty to check out the design team's creations, the other entries for the week, or to submit your own project for the challenge!

Stampin' Celebration #15

If there's one thing you can say about this week's group of inspiration photos over at Stampin' Celebration, it's that they're colorful!

The melted cupcake tin crayons look like they'd be fun to make and color with! And the paper chain brings back lots of fun memories when we used to make those out of construction paper!

For my card, I used the shape of the crayons and incorporated the many colors with a button stamp from Lawn Fawn.

I stamped the button image on scraps of paper, poked holes in each and created stitching with a fine tip brown pen. I also added clear glaze to each button to give them a little dimension. I embossed some kraft cardstock for the base, and stamped the sentiment on a scrap of vanilla cardstock. The flower is a chipboard embellishment by Cosmo Cricket. I threaded a button with linen thread to make the center.

All of my stamping was done with Stampin' Up's Chocolate Chip ink. The tape measure ribbon is by the girls' paperie.

Thanks for taking time to look at my card! Don't forget to visit Stampin' Celebration to see the design team's creations and to check out the other entries for this week!

Unscripted Sketches #68

For this week's Unscripted Sketches challenge, I used some cute summer stamps by Lawn Fawn and more Sassafrass Nerdy Bird mini papers!

Here's this week's challenge sketch:

and here's my card!

I used scraps of SU cardstock for the beach ball and the glass of lemonade. Everything was stamped with Stampin' Up Soft Suede ink. The inflatable toy was stamped on Bazzill Swiss Dot cardstock. I used Bo Bunny Double Dot and an EK Success border punch to make the waves. All of the stamps are from Lawn Fawn's "Swimsuit Season" set.

Thanks for looking at my card! visit Unscripted Sketches to see the design team's awesome creations and to check out all the other fab entries for this week's challenge!

Get Sketchy #51

I had a lot of fun with this week's Get Sketchy challenge (#51)! I finally got to use some cute Sassafrass "Nerdy Bird" paper that I've been saving!

Here's the sketch:

And here's my card! I rotated the sketch and moved the sentiment to the left; it looked more balanced to me that way.

I used various scraps of Stampin' Up cardstock for the cupcake liners and heart decorations. Everything is stamped with Chocolate Chip ink (also by Stampin' Up!) The sentiment stamp is by memory box stamps, and the cupcake stamp is by Savvy Stamps. I used a square of Bo Bunny sunflower Double Dot to mat the cupcakes, and added some Crystal Stickles to make the icing sparkle.

colourQ #45

This week's colourQ challenge features a fun set of colors inspired by some vinyl butterfly wall decals:

I substituted some Prima patterned paper for the Wild Wasabi. It also has some turquoise dots in the pattern, which I think work well!

The sentiment was created with "Harold's ABC's" by Lawn Fawn Stamps, and the take-out box image is by AMuse Art Stamps.

I used a square of Tempting Turquoise to mat the image and sentiment, and debossed some Regal Rose cardstock for the bottom of the card. A strip of Bo Bunny Double Dot was substituted for the Early Espresso. I also stamped some of the take-out details with Melon Mambo ink and colored the hearts with a colored pencil. To finish the card, I added some glittery details with a gel pen.

Thanks for looking at my card! You can see all the other entries and the design team's creations by visiting the colourQ blog!

Color Throwdown #105

If not for this week's Color Throwdown challenge, I never would have thought to combine these colors to make a card...but that's what a challenge is all about, right?

For my card, I stamped everything in Soft Suede ink using an image and sentiment from Lawn Fawn's "How Delightful" collection.

I debossed some Soft Suede cardstock for the base (which is really just flipping the embossed part around so that the pattern goes in instead of popping up), cut a strip of Elegant Eggplant cardstock and border punched two strips of white cardstock.

Then I pleated the white border strips to make them look like lacy ribbon. I used Always Artichoke to mat the stamped image and sentiment, and glued tiny rhinestones to the chandelier to lighten up the card. Finally, I added some sparkly detail with a glitter gel pen.

Thanks very much for looking at my card! To see the design team's delightful examples and the other lovely entries, please visit The Color Throwdown!

Unscripted Sketches #67

This week's Unscripted Sketch (#67) really challenged me! I've been working with Cosmo Cricket papers and Lawn Fawn stamps for the last few cards I've made, so that part of the design process was relatively easy. Trying to make all the elements work with the sketch -- that was the challenge!

Here's sketch #67:

For my entry, I used the button stamp from Lawn Fawn's "Sew Lovely" collection, and a sentiment stamp, which was applied to a chipboard tag altered with acrylic paint.

The papers and chipboard accents on my card are from Cosmo Cricket's Material Girl collection. I used a micro-tip pen to draw the stitching on the card and the tag. The ribbon I used to thread the chipboard button is by The Girls Paperie.

Thanks for taking the time to look at my card! I hope you'll check out the other entries for this week's Unscripted Sketches challenge and the fabulous examples created by the design team!

Get Sketchy #50

For this week's Get Sketchy challenge, I continued to work with the combo of Lawn Fawn stamps and Cosmo Cricket papers.

Here's the sketch for this week!

and here's my card!

The patterned paper and chipboard flower is from Cosmo Cricket (Material Girl and Garden Variety collections), The stamps are from Lawn Fawn's "Sew Lovely" set. I used Bo Bunny Double Dot to accent the dress form. I tied a scrap of ribbon through the center of a button to accent the chipboard flower. Everything was stamped using Stampin' Up Chocolate Chip ink.

My other supplies include:

Clear glaze gel pen
Martha Stewart Embossing Border Punch
Chestnut Colorbox cat's eye ink
Micro-tip felt pen to create stitching

Thanks for taking the time to look at my card! I hope you'll visit Get Sketchy to check out the design team's fabulous creations and to see the other awesome entries for this week's challenge, which is sponsored by EAD Designs!

CPS #179

This week's CPS sketch challenge (#179)  features a very versatile sketch to use in card making, and is  sponsored by The Stamps of Life.

For my card, I used some cute Lawn Fawn stamps that I bought earlier this month. My card style tends to be more "Fun & Cute" than anything else, and I love these stamps from the "Sew Lovely" collection!

The papers I used are from Cosmo Cricket's "Material Girl" collection, as is the chipboard flower accent.

I added a Creative Imaginations jeweled brad to the center and pleated some ribbon by The Girls Paperie to add a border to the card. I used Stampin' Up Chocolate Chip ink to do all of my stamping. The sentiment is stamped on a chipboard tag that I altered with acrylic paint. I used a micro-tip felt pen to create the stitching effect on the tag.

Thanks for taking the time to look at my card!

Bo Bunny Card Challenge - August 2

Bo Bunny is hosting another card sketch challenge! Here's the sketch for the latest one:
For my card, I used almost all Bo Bunny products. The only item that's not by Bo Bunny (other than glue dots and a tape runner) is the clear dimensional gel pen that I used to accent the paper and cardstock stickers.

My supply list:

Paper: Double Dot (Concord, Frost & Turquoise), Paper (Petal Pushers and Peacock Lane collections)
Rub-ons (Peacock Lane)
Combo Stickers (Sophie & Sun Kissed - I used the punctuation dots to accent the cardstock sticker on the top left)
Large gem: Peacock Lane Buttons & Bling
Other: clear dimensional gel pen, glue dots, tape runner

Thanks for taking the time to look at my card!

Stampin' Celebration #14

It's time for another fabulous Stampin' Celebration Challenge! (#14) Here's this week's inspiration photo collage:

For my card, I borrowed the blue/white/brown color scheme and decided to make a masculine-ish card featuring some of my favorite coffee-themed stamps by Elzybells!

Supply list:

Paper: Pink Paislee, KaiserCraft, Bo Bunny Double Dot, Stampin' Up Kraft and Whisper White cardstock, Core'dinations cardstock
Ink: Stampin' Up Chocolate Chip
Other: corner rounder, white gel pen, blue and red dimensional gel pens

Thanks so much for looking at my card...I hope you'll play along with Stampin' Celebration this week!

Color Throwdown #104

This week's Color Throwdown (#104) features some delicious bright, summery colors:

I substituted Only Orange for the Tangerine Tango when I made my card:

The bike stamp is by Hero Arts and is stamped in Old Olive ink. The sentiment, which is also stamped in Old Olive, is by Lawn Fawn (Harold's ABC's).

I accented the flowers in the basket with some gel pens. The patterned paper is from Stampin' Up! and the yellow that I used for the frame and the sentiment is Bo Bunny Double Dot. The card base and other white cardstock is SU Whisper White. I added some buttons to accent the frame and the stamped image.

Thanks for looking at my card!

Curtain Call #41

This week's Curtain Call Challenge at Stacey's Stamping Stage features some cool colors inspired by some crochet-covered sea urchins from purl bee...

I had to substitute for the Marina Mist, because I don't have that color yet...I used a similar blue for my card base.

The shell background was stamped with VersaMark watermark ink using an Inkadinkado clear stamp. I embossed a strip of Night of Navy cardstock with a Tim Holtz folder in my Big Shot. Then, I accented the embossing with a white cat's eye ink pad. I glued the embossed section onto a strip of kraft cardstock.

The sentiment is from Stampin' Up's "One of a Kind" set, and it's stamped in Soft Suede ink. I punched the sentiment out with an SU circle punch, accented it with a Stardust pen, and attached a pearl brad by American Crafts to complete the card.

Thanks for looking at my card! To see the design team's creations and to check out the other fabulous cards entered in this week's challenge, visit Stacey's Stamping Stage!

Stampin' Royalty #31

This week the Stampin' Royalty Goddesses are challenging you to create your own background paper!

Just create a card, scrapbook layout, 3-D or digital project using this theme as the main inspiration behind your project!

Here's the card I made for the challenge:

I used Stampin' Up Elegant Eggplant cardstock for the base, and then  stamped a damask pattern using an Impress rubber stamp in white VersaMagic ink. Then, I cut a strip of Perfect Plum cardstock for the border and attached some white satin ribbon.

The sentiment is stamped in Perfect Plum ink on Whisper White cardstock. The sentiment is from the Level 3 Hostess set, "Occasional Quotes." I punched it out with an SU Curly Label punch. To complete the card, I used KaiserCraft adhesive pearls to accent the damask pattern.

Thanks so much for taking the time to look at my card! I hope you'll visit Stampin' Royalty to see all of the creative cards submitted for this week's challenge!

colourQ #44

This week's colourQ challenge is inspired by a fun and festive Anthropologie halter top!

For my card, I had to substitute for the blue, saffron, and poppy. I don't yet have all of my new Stampin' Up cardstock in the new colors, and I'm running low on some colors that are very popular in color challenges like this one!

The popcorn stamp I used is by Viva Las Vegas Stamps. I colored it with a glaze gel pen and a colored pencil after stamping the images in Basic Black.

I made the film strip by punching a strip of Basic Black cardstock with a Fiskars "ribbon weaving" border punch, cut the strip in half, and glued it to the underside of a strip of Basic Black. I rounded the corners of each white square to make it look like a film cel. The card base, black cardstock and white cardstock are all by Stampin' Up! I embossed the card base with the Big Shot.

The ticket is made from Bo Bunny Double Dot paper, and the sentiment is stamped on another color of Double Dot. The letter stamps I used are by Lawn Fawn, and they are stamped in Basic Black SU ink.

I made the "popcorn" by folding down several petals on tiny paper flowers.

Thanks for "popping" by to look at my card! Be sure and visit the colourQ to see the design team's beautiful creations and all of the fantastic entries submitted this week!
